ARCHIVES: The Aug. 19 Franorama playlist

This pre-Franorama World post was from my MySpace blog Aug. 20, 2008, 9:50 p.m. EDT, back in Connecticut. I did three fill-in shows at my beloved WPKN during my three weeks home; this was the first. Pardon any funky spacing problems:

Well, my New Haven pal Chip Damiani (the original and present drummer for the legendary ’60s band The Remains; see my friends list) listened to my Franorama radio show on WPKN Tuesday night (8/19) and asked for my playlist, so I figured I’d share it with the rest of the class, too.

I had more fun than a human deserved in my first show at PKN (89.5 FM, in a year — so much fun that I’ve been asked to do two more fill-in shows: 6-10 a.m. EDT Friday (8/22) and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday (8/26). If you listened, thanks for the support; if you couldn’t, hope you can drop by the next two go-rounds.

And speaking of The Remains: Stay tuned to their MS page for news about the forthcoming documentary, “America’s Lost Band” (originally titled “The Remains: They Were How You Told a Stranger About Rock’N’Roll”). It was shot two years ago this past weekend in Hollywood (and I was there), and it should be hitting the festival circuit this fall, hopefully starting in Boston — where it all began for them, at BU in 1964 …
