ARCHIVES: The Aug. 22 Franorama playlist

This Franorama World post was on my MySpace blog Aug. 22, 2008, 4:26 p.m. EDT. It was the second of my three fill-in shows on WPKN during my vacation:

Well, the morning started with a 3-vehicle accident on the Turnpike in Stratford that kept me from getting to the station until 6:05 — five minutes after I was supposed to have gone on the air. Such are the best-laid plans … But the rest of the morning went without incident — and with a lot of phone calls. One was from my mother. Another was from a woman who grew up on the other end of my dead end street. One was from my pal Walter Quadrato, owner of the wonderful Brass City Records in Waterbury, whom I hadn’t talked to in years. Lots of encouraging words all around.

Anyway, the last of the Franorama fill-ins on WPKN (89.5 FM, www.wpkn.org) will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. EDT Tuesday (7-11 a.m. PDT). Here’s this morning’s playlist:
